This Privacy Policy explains how YSM (Your Second Mind) (“YSM”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website and application. YSM is a personal knowledge tool, and we design it to keep your notes yours.

1. Information we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run the service:

  • Account information — such as your email address, used to authenticate you (magic link or Google/Apple sign-in).
  • Content you create — notes, hashtags, Spaces, images, sources, and graph arrangements you save.
  • Usage & device data — basic technical logs (e.g. browser type, timestamps, error reports) to keep the app reliable and secure.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve YSM.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To power features you actively trigger — for example, generating an AI Rabbit Hole or a web search sends the relevant content to our AI and search providers to return a result.
  • To respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your private notes to train third-party AI models.

3. Service providers

We rely on a small set of trusted processors to operate YSM, including hosting and database infrastructure (Supabase, Vercel), AI text generation (Google Gemini), and web search (Tavily). These providers process data only to perform services for us, under their own security and privacy commitments.

4. Data storage & security

Your content is stored with per-user isolation so that only your account can access it. We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can export your notes from within the app at any time, and you can request account deletion by contacting us.

7. Data retention

We keep your content for as long as your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from our active systems, subject to routine backup cycles and any legal obligations.

8. Children

YSM is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
